A rectangular metal plaque made of brass. It has engraved writing on the front commemorating the 130th Anniversary of the first railway in Queensland. There are holes in each corner which would have been used to the mount the plaque.

History and use
Mrs Dallas Hayden, wife of Australia's Governor-General, Mr Bill Hayden AC, planted a tree at Grandchester on 30 July 1995 to commemorate the opening of the first railway in Queensland. This plaque marks that occasion.
