History and use
This QLD Maroons State of Origin rugby league uniform was donated by Queensland Rugby League (QRL) in 2014, a few months after the 2014 series was held. The uniform consists of a player’s jersey, a pair of rugby shorts and a pair of rugby socks. The uniform is designed and made by Canterbury; a New Zealand company that specialises in professional sportswear world-wide.

The jersey was made for young and upcoming rugby league player Ben Hunt, who was selected as a No.7 halfback ‘possible fill-in’ for Game 2 of the 2014 series on 18th June at ANZ Stadium. The jersey was created in the case of Daly Cherry-Evans not being fit to play due to an injury - however Cherry-Evans ended up playing. Potentially, this would have been Ben Hunt's debut to the State-of-Origin series had he had the opportunity to play.

The jersey is made of a new type of fabric technology referred to as a sublimation material (mostly polyester). This fabric allows for greater flexibility, movement and comfort and is designed to be worn tight and close to the body. The jersey also features thin strips of tonal grip tape on the front which help the ball grip to the jersey when the player holds the ball close to the body during a game. The rugby shorts are made of a similar material and feature suede pockets on the back which are used to dry sweaty palms while on the field, enabling the player to get a good grip on the ball.
