History and use
'Victory' ranks alongside Kingsford Smith's Fokker tri-motor 'Sothern Cross' as Australia's most historically significant aircraft.

One of the world's first purpose-built airliners, it was Q.A.N.T.A.S.'s favourable experience with the De Havilland 50 VH-UER which led it commence the first airliner series production (of DH 50Js) in Australia.

In 1928 'Victory' was leased to the Australian Inland Mission Aerial Medical Service for a twelve-month successful trial that led to the establishment of what has now become a national institution, the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

The imporatnce of this initiative, and Victory's part, have long been recognised by the aircraft's inclusion on the Australian twenty dollar note. All that is known to survive of the original aircraft is its clock, which is also held by the Queensland Museum.
