Pair of army horse picket chains as used by thew Australian Army. The chains were used to tether horses to picket lines when not working in harness.

History and use
Army picket chains were worn by transport horses. When the horses were not working they could be tethered in picket lines. (Note; Ridden horses such as those belonging to officers and the Light Horse usually had picket ropes rather than chains.)
