Ammunition box.Rectagular pine box with sliding lid and morticed corners. Used by the Colonial Ammunition Company of Footscray Melbourne to transport ammunition. (Probably First World War era.)

History and use
he Colonial Ammunition Company produced .303 ammunition for the Australian Army in the First World War. The Company operated fron 1888 until 1926 when it was purchased by the Australian Government and became the Small Arms Ammunition Factory No1.
A company of the same name operated in Auckland NZ.
