History and use
‘Pathway’ by Dylan Sarra, "reflects the path we all walk in our own journey through life. The circles are our goals. The places we meet up and stop to reflect. Straight lines mean feeling at ease or right with situations while slanted and criss-crossed lines mean a form of discord or distress.

So as we move through our own pathways, we would do well to reflect on our journey. Life isn’t always mapped out the way we plan, but with great integrity we can endeavour to make our future a bright and colourful one."

Dylan Sarra is an Aboriginal artist and proud Gurang Gurang(Gooreng Gooreng) man of the Bunda people from Bundaberg.

Dylan’s painting was commissioned to represent the 2016 Queensland Reconciliation Awards Pathways to reconciliation. The work was gifted to the Museum of Tropical Queensland by The Honourable Curtis Pitt MP, Treasurer, Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Minister for Sport, on behalf of the Queensland Government.
