History and use
A gold rail pass issued by Queensland Railways to His Honour Judge R D Hall of the District Court of Queensland 1983 - 2004.

Gold Passes were issued by Queensland Railways to parliamentarians, members of the judiciary and other selected VIPs granting free rail travel whenever travel by rail was required. These medallion style gold passes were issued up until about 1990 when a change was made to a gold coloured "credit card" style plastic card.

His Honour Robert David Hall was born in 1940 and attended Rockhampton High School and later studied through the Secondary Correspondence School. He then studied at the University of Queensland and was awarded a Bachelor of Laws Degree. In 1968 he was appointed to the bar and practiced law until 1983 when he was made a Judge in the District Court. He served as Judge at Townsville for six years and then Southport. He retired in 2004.
