History and use
A gold rail pass issued by Queensland Railways to Senior Master D R Horton of the Supreme Court of Queensland 1990 - 1991.

Gold Passes were issued by Queensland Railways to parliamentarians, members of the judiciary and other selected VIPs granting free rail travel whenever travel by rail was required. These medallion style gold passes were issued up until about 1990 when a change was made to a gold coloured "credit card" style plastic card.

The Honourable Donald R Horton was born in 1994. He attended primary school in Ascot Brisbane and then Brisbane Boys College. After high school he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts/Laws Degree from the University of Queensland. He was admitted to the bar in 1973 and practiced law 16 years. In 1989 he was made a Master of the Supreme Court of Queensland and then in 1990 was made Senior Master of the Supreme Court.

The Honourable Donald Horton died in August 1991.
