History and use
A gold rail pass issued by Queensland Railways to His Honour Judge A K McCracken of the District Court of Queensland 1969 - 1989.

Gold Passes were issued by Queensland Railways to parliamentarians, members of the judiciary and other selected VIPs granting free rail travel whenever travel by rail was required. These medallion style gold passes were issued up until about 1990 when a change was made to a gold coloured "credit card" style plastic card.

His Honour Alan Keith McCracken was born in 1930. He went to high school at Toowoomba Grammar School then studied at the University of Queensland where attained Bachelor Degrees in Arts and Law. McCraken worked as an associate of Sir Rosyln Philp during much of the 1950s and was involved in conducting the 'Petrov Affair', the Royal Commission into Espionage.

In 1969 he was appointed a Judge of the District Court after acting in the position since 1968. He retired in 1989 and died in 2003.
