History and use
A gold rail pass issued by Queensland Railways to His Honour Judge N F McLauchlan of the District Court of Queensland 1989 - 2007.
Gold Passes were issued by Queensland Railways to parliamentarians, members of the judiciary and other selected VIPs granting free rail travel whenever travel by rail was required. These medallion style gold passes were issued up until about 1990 when a change was made to a gold coloured "credit card" style plastic card.
His Honour Neil F McLauchlan QC was appointed a judge to the District Court in 1989. He retired in 2007.
