History and use
A gold rail pass issued by Queensland Railways to His Honour Judge M G Morley of the District Court of Queensland 1988 - 1998.

Gold Passes were issued by Queensland Railways to parliamentarians, members of the judiciary and other selected VIPs granting free rail travel whenever travel by rail was required. These medallion style gold passes were issued up until about 1990 when a change was made to a gold coloured "credit card" style plastic card.

Maxwell George Morley was educated through the Queensland Correspondence School. After not fully finishing his university studies he became an articled clerk. He was admitted to the bar in 1963. He took silk and became a Queen's Council in 1977. He was appointed to the District Court in 1988 and retired from the judiciary in 1998. His Honour Maxwell George Morley died in 2017.
