History and use
A gold rail pass issued by Queensland Railways to His Honour Judge M J Noud, a judge of the District Court since 1989.
Gold Passes were issued by Queensland Railways to parliamentarians, members of the judiciary and other selected VIPs granting free rail travel whenever travel by rail was required. These medallion style gold passes were issued up until about 1990 when a change was made to a gold coloured "credit card" style plastic card.
His Honour Judge Michael J Noud was born in 1946. He attended St Ignatius Toowong, Nudgee Junior and then Nudgee Senior graduating in 1964. He was awarded a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Queensland in 1970. Noud was initially an articled clerk and then began practicing as a barrister. He was appointed a judge to the District Court in 1989.
