History and use
A gold rail pass issued by Queensland Railways to His Honour Judge E C E Pratt, of the District Court of Queensland 1982 - 2001.

Gold Passes were issued by Queensland Railways to parliamentarians, members of the judiciary and other selected VIPs granting free rail travel whenever travel by rail was required. These medallion style gold passes were issued up until about 1990 when a change was made to a gold coloured "credit card" style plastic card.

His Honour Judge Eric Charles Ernest Pratt QC was born in 1931 in Melbourne. He went to Carey Grammar in Melbourne and then studied a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Queensland graduating in 1965. He practiced law for seven years in Papau New Guinea before returning to Queensland in 1973. He took silk in 1980 and in 1982 was appointed to the District Court. He retired from the court in early 2001.
