History and use
A gold rail pass issued by Queensland Railways to His Honour Judge G Trafford-Walker, Judge of the District Court of Queensland, the Children's Court and the Planning and Environment Court from 1983 - 2009.

Gold Passes were issued by Queensland Railways to parliamentarians, members of the judiciary and other selected VIPs granting free rail travel whenever travel by rail was required. These medallion style gold passes were issued up until about 1990 when a change was made to a gold coloured "credit card" style plastic card.

His Honour Gilbert Trafford-Walker was born in 1942 and went to high school in Mackay. He studied at the University of Queensland and obtained a Bachelor of Laws with Honours in 1965. After being called to the bar, he worked in the Public Curator's Office before becoming a Crown Prosecutor.

He was appointed a Judge to the District Court in 1983, later becoming the Deputy Chairman of the District Courts in 1986. He was made Senior Judge of the District Court in 1993. He retired in 2009.
