Description
A model horse-drawn coach in the form of an omnibus mounted on a wooden base. The model's scale is 1:7 and is based on the omnibus coach in Queensland Museum's collection (Reg. no. H8062). It is mounted on a wooden base and features an adhered label detailing the significance of the model. The model itself is cream in colour with green and red accents, and includes full detail of the coach such as signage, wheels, windows, and the seating cabin.

HORSE DRAWN OMNIBUS
These buses were built in Sydney in 1857 and carried 25 passengers.
The rear spring arrangement and cranked axle allowed passengers
easy access to their seats. The buses were used on the Rosalie to
Brisbane - run from 1893 - 1912 and then changed to the Aspley to
Wooloowin run until 1924 when they were replaced by electric trams.

History and use
Model omnibus. 1:7 scale. Model of QLD Museum's omnibus located at Cobb+Co Branch. which was built in Sydney in 1887 and used on routes in Brisbane to Rosalie (c1892-1912), and Aspley to Woolowin (1912-1924). The omnibus is a style popular in the Umnited States from midnineteenth century.
