Description
Over 8000 fragments from an Egyptian funerary papyrus ('Book of the Dead") which was made for Amenhotep, whose full title was 'Overseer of the builders of the temple of Amun'. Amenhotep was a high ranking official, with a supervisory role overseeing the construction of large buildings and temples, during the reign of Amenhotep II. The complete papyrus is estimated to be ca 20 meters long, this early example has several unusual features including text on both recto and verso.
