History and use
This is a model Fifteem series PV manufactured in 1929. It has been restored and painted in orginal colours, grey with red trim. It features a 'wavy' Caterpillar logo, the original logo used by teh Caterpillar Tractor Company. Thiess Bros used model Fifteen tractors in their business in the 1930s. This tractor has a wide gauge track, so is relatively rarer than a standard model Fifteen

In the Caterpillar product line in the late 1920s and early 1930s there were three separate models, which were referred to as model Fifteen tractors. The Fifteen (PV) was the first and was introduced in 1929. It was mechanically identical to the earlier model Ten but larger. High clearance adaptor kits were available for this model, for use in orchards. It had a four cylinder Cat 3 3/4 x 5 inch bore and stroke, gas engine. 7559 tractors were produced from 1929 to 1932.
