History and use
This tractor is an International Harvester Titan 10-20 manufactured in 1921. The Titan 10-20 model was built by International Harvester from 1915 to 1922 in both the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, factory and the Chicago, Illinois, factory. The tractor operated on kerosene fuel but was started with gasoline.

This tractor was purchased by Bert Thiess's father Henry in the early 1920s, in order for his five older boys to have a way of making an income. Henry took a bold step and sold off his dairy cattle and purchased this tractor, a chaff cutter and corn husker/thresher. The tractor was used to haul the chaff cutter and cornhusker to their farm contract jobs. The boys took on contracts with local farms around the Darling Downs. Within a few years the younger boys, lead by Leslie, took over the contracting work. This was the beginning of what would be become Thiess Bros, a small contracting company that became a global construction and mining giant.
