History and use
This tractor is a small model Twenty 8C series. Only 652 were manufactured between 1931 and early 1934. While there was an earlier model Twenty produced from 1927-1931, the 8C series is a distinct design which was actually an upgraded version of the model Fifteen PV series to fix identified flaws. These included new sheet metal covers, new seating and a higher powered engine. The 1927-1931 model Twenty was the first tractor fully designed by the newly formed Caterpillar Tractor company. While it is not known how many still exist, with only 652 manufactured this tractor could be considered rare.
