Description
This is a Caterpillar D4D crawler tractor with a four cylinder diesel engine. It is painted yellow with a black seat, black logo lettering and lever handles. It has a canopy over the drivers console and an overhead valve. There are two spotlights attached to the front of the engine and two spotlights attached to the back of the crawler tractor on top of the metal frame behind the seat. "CATERPILLAR" is cast horizontally onto the front of the engine.

History and use
This tractor is a model D4D 65J series.This tractor was manufactured in Japan by Mitsubishi in 1974. It has been modified with a homemade shade cover for the driver. It is also fitted with two spotlights.
The model D4D crawler tractor was introduced in 1963 to replace the D4C. The Caterpillar D4D SA (special application) was manufactured from 1963 to 1977 and approximately 46,800 were manufactured in total. Caterpillar Mitsubishi Ltd., under licence from Caterpillar Tractor Co., began production of the Cat D4D tractor and 955H in 1965. They were built in a 1,300,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility at Sagami, near Tokyo, Japan. This tractor was manufactured in Japan by Mitsubishi in 1974. 100,000 tractors had been built at the factory by 1979.
