A trophy comprised of a four piece red leather cricket ball attached to a dark stained circular shaped silky oak wooden base. The trophy was awarded to Raymond Argus who made 67 wickets during the 1939-1940 season for the Ipswich Railway Cricket Club.

History and use
Raymond Argus was a fast bowler who played for the Ipswich Railway Cricket Club. This trophy was awarded to him for taking 67 wickets in the 1939-1940 season, a new club record. Argus consistently bowled large hauls of wickets that season including: 5/27 against Booval, 4/33 1st innings and 5/20 2nd innings against Past Grammars, 8/42 against Alberts and 7/32 against Goodna.

Raymond Robert Argus became a Coach Builder at the Ipswich Railway Workshops in 1938 and was selected in the Ipswich Railway Cricket Club in the same year. Argus was a very successful fast bowler and lower order batsman.

The 1939-1940 was hugely successful season for the Ipswich Railway Cricket Club with the club winning 'the double'. Both the A Grade and Reserve Grade sides won premierships that season, a first in the history of the club.

The Ipswich Railway Cricket Club was established in 1922.
