History and use
This trophy is associated with the Ipswich Railway Cricket Club. The Schulte Cup was named after E. A. Schulte (club secretary) who sponsored a trophy to be awarded to the bowler with the best wicket taking average in the Ipswich Railway Cricket Club A Grade side for the 1940-1941 season. Raymond Argus was awarded the trophy for the second season running after winning the award in the 1939-1940 season.

Raymond Robert Argus became a Coach Builder at the Ipswich Railway Workshops in 1938 and was selected in the Ipswich Railway Cricket Club in the same year. Argus was a very successful fast bowler and lower order batsman.

The 1940-1941 Ipswich Railway Cricket Club A Grade side won the Ipswich & West Moreton Cricket Association Premiership. The A Grade side went back-to-back after winning the 1939-1940 Premiership the season before.
