Description
An ornately engraved and molded metal trophy with two handles and a removable lid. "CHALLENGE CUP PRES. BY COL. CHAS. EVANS C.M.G. COM. FOR RAILWAYS" engraved into the front of the trophy. The ornate handle on the lid is detached and sitting inside the cup of the trophy.

History and use
A collection of sporting trophies and shields relating to the Queensland Railway Institute. The collection ranges from 1903 to 1995 and includes a highly significant WW1/Railway Patriotic Fund trophy. As well objects from interstate railway institute sporting carnivals, there are also trophies won by QRI teams in local Brisbane competitions including table tennis and rugby league.
