History and use
This shield was presented to members of the Queensland Railway Institute 1994 lawn bowls team for winning a carnival between railway institutes.

Sports included football, rifle shooting, tennis, table tennis and cricket. New South Wales and Queensland Railway Institutes played against each other in Rugby League tests, while the majority of other states played Australian Rules Football tests.
