History and use
Brown & Broad built a number of S wagons for the Quensland Government Railways between 1908-1909. The firm built 50 H wagons in 1911 and supplied 60 open goods and 55 timber wagons between 1912-1913. Brown & Broad continued to build wagons for the railways during the First World War.

Brown & Broad were based in Newstead, Brisbane and were known for their wooden kit homes.
