History and use
A locomotive depot was built at Willowburn, Toowoomba in 1919 and new workshops built in 1928 to replace exisiting facilities.

In the early 1990s wagon conversion projects were undertaken at the site including converting QLX underframes to PCKY cattle wagons and modifying VO coal wagons into VMO molasses wagons. In the late 1990s the site was upgraded which included a new wagon maintenance depot. The workshops were acquired by QR National (Aurizon) when Queensland Rail was split in 2010.
