An oval shaped steel plate painted dark blue with the cast raised lettering painted white. The plate has broken into two pieces and glued onto a piece of plywood.

History and use
Hancock Brothers of Ipswich were an early producer of wagons and carriages for Queensland Railways. The firm supplied four wheel open wagons throughout the 1880s and by the 1920s, the firm were building wooden bodies for passenger carriages.

Hancock Brothers had a sawmill in North Ipswich that was connect to the Ipswich railway yard via the old Wharf line.
