History and use
This builder's plate is from Queensland Railways 1150 Class diesel electric locomotive No.1161 built by Australian Electric Industries of Newcastle. The locomotive was put into service in June 1956 and was written off in January 1979.

The 1150 Class were originally called the 1300 Class. The locomotives were renamed and renumbered in 1965.
