A rectangular shaped aluminium plate painted navy blue and 'Tamper' pressed into the front of the plate. The other lettering on the front of the plate has been painted on in white.

History and use
This builder's plate is from an MMB Class ballast regulator machine built by Tamper. It was purchased by Queensland Railways in 1975.

Queensland Railways purchased numerous track maintenance vehicles from Tamper beginning in the mid 1960s. Vehicles included MMA Class tampers, MMB Class ballast regulators, MMC Class crib & shoulder compactors, MMD Class track lifter/slewers and track jack models, MMG Class spike drivers, MMH Class sleeper spacers, MMJ Class dual head sleeper borers, MMK Class sleeper cranes, MML Class sleeper cranes and sleeper renewers, MMM Class spike drivers, MMO Class anchor adjusters, MMS Class rotary scarifiers, MMT Class vibratool switch tampers and spot tampers, MMU Class spike springers, MMY Class track laying machines, track & overhead geometry cars, track gophers and switch undercutters and MMZ Class joint lifter models.
