History and use
Ernest William started an engineering firm with his brother, Edward, in Western Australia in 1896, known as Tomlinson Bros. The firm produced a significant amount of engineering works and later became known as Tomlinson & Co. The company was renamed Tomlinson Steel and floated on the stockmarket in the early 1950s.
Tomlinson Steel produced ore wagons for Goldsworthy Mining Limited for their 113km long standard guage railway from Mount Goldsworthy to Finucane Island, Western Australia.
