A rectangular shaped aluminium plate with a logo featuring railway track etched into the face of the plate. Lettering has been also been pressed into the front of the plate with remanents of black paint on the lettering.

History and use
This builder's plate is from a Plasser Australia SBM rail planer. It was purchased by Queensland Railways in 1982 and designated an MMY Class vehicle.
Queensland Railways purchased a large amount of track maintenance machinery from Plasser South Africa, Plasser-Thereur (Austria) and Plasser Australia beginning in the 1960s. Machines purchased included MMA Class electromatic tampers and crib & shoulder compactor machines, MMB Class ballast regulators, MMD Class track jacks and rail threaders, MME Class scissor lifts and MMY Class rail planers, spolier transfer cars and flash butt welders.
