Kalazmazoo Manufacturing Company were a major producer of railway maintenance vehicles. Based in Michigan, the company's railway production arm was purchased by Tamper in the late 1960s.
During the mid 1960s, Queensland Railways purchased seven Kalamazoo made MMB Class ballast regulator machines. It is likely that this builder's plate is from one of those seven ballast regulators.
