History and use
This tiny fragment of pipe bowl is difficult to interpret, however, a cross-like motif is present. A similar pipe bowl design and motif appears on British pipes dating between 1810-1840, suggesting this fragment of pipe may be directly associated with Brisbane’s convict past.
