History and use
This paddle from Mitchell River in Cape York is one of 14 made and collected before 1911. The Traditional Owners of the Mitchell River region are the Kokoberra, Yir Yoront (or Kokomnjen) and Kunjen people.

This item was most recently on display in the exhibition 'Connections across the Coral Sea: A story of movement' at Museum of Tropical Queensland (2021-2022) and Queensland Museum (2022-2023).
