History and use
Fishing is a vital part of life in Solomon Islands. This fishnet float from Santa Ana (Owaraha) is designed to bob on the surface of the water keeping the top of a net afloat.

The figure on the top of the float is thought to represent a fishing god with the head of a fish and body of a man.
