History and use
These hand-painted earrings were made in 1992 by local artist and Wulgurukaba Elder, Virginia Wyles. The earrings are made from seed pods, and painted to depict a city-scape in the colours of the Aboriginal flag.
The Queensland Museum purchased the item from Virginia to be featured in the inaugural Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander exhibition at the Museum of Tropical Queensland (2000-2005).
