History and use
Made in 1995, this necklace features porcupine quills, plastic beads and a trochus shell pendant. The necklace was made by local artist and Wulgurukaba Elder, Virginia Wyles.
The Queensland Museum purchased the item from Virginia to be featured in the inaugural Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander exhibition at the Museum of Tropical Queensland (2000-2005).
