These earrings, featuring painted seed pods, were made in 1992 by local artist and Wulgurukaba Elder, Virginia Wyles.
The Queensland Museum purchased the item from Virginia to be featured in the inaugural Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander exhibition at the Museum of Tropical Queensland (2000-2005).
