History and use
Extensive glass production began in the New Kingdom in the 18th Dynasty. Ancient Egyptian glass used core forming technique, which was superceeded by the introduction of blown glass in the Roman Era. Glass production declined after the 21st Dynasty. This fragment of glass is from the Roman Era, and was found in an Egyptian Tomb.
