History and use
Mirrors, tweezers, razors and kohl (eyeliner) represent complex notions of gender, status, sexuality, and the construction of personal image and identity. This patinated bronze mirror has an etched design on the reverse and a smooth face, which would once have been highly polished, to let a person view their reflection.
