Necklaces, comprised of a series of blue, cylindrical faience beads, varying slightly in size, shape and colour. Each necklace has a small bundle of coarse linen attached to one end.

Egyptian faience is a ceramic material with a siliceous body and brightly coloured glaze.
Faience (composed of quartz, alkaline salts [natron or plant ash], lime, and metallic mineral-based colorant)
Glaze (formed by alkali and lime reacting with silica to form the glaze)
Blue glaze created with copper
History and use
The beads comprising these necklaces would have once formed large delicate bead nets which were placed over mummies. These bead nets could deteriorate over time, and these beads were collected and made into necklaces in more recent times likely for the antiquities trade. Large numbers of these simple necklaces were sold to tourists.
