Oval shaped brass builders plate. Raised lettering and border around edge on front. Two circular recessed and countersunk mounting holes through front. Red paint finish on front. Black paint finish on outer edge. Raised text, border and circles (around mounting holes) on back.

History and use
A builder's plate from Queensland Railways D17 Class tank locomotive No.884 (D17 Class locomotives were originally known as the 6D17 Class).

No.884 was built at the Ipswich Railway Workshops in 1942, and was the 190th locomotive built at Ipswich.

No.884 entered service in June 1942 and was withdrawn in October 1968.
