Oval shaped brass plate with polished raised text and border. Red painted background. Two screw holes, one either side of centre and border. Two screw holes one either side of centre near edge.

History and use
This builder's plate was attached to Queensland Railways BB18 1/4 Class locomotive No.1044.

The locomotive was one of 35 BB18 1/4s built by the Vulcan Foundry in England (works number 5970/1950) in 1950.

No.1044 entered service in July 1951 and was based in the Northern Division. The locomotive was written off in July 1968.
