Description
Jug - Wheel made. Black Slip I Ware (Buccero) jug (Cypro-Geometric 1050-700 BC). Ovoid body with splaying conical foot and a narrow concave neck widening to trefoil mouth. Features a high vertical handle, oval in section, from rim to shoulder. Cream-buff clay covered with thick slightly lustrous black slip, evenly applied on body and inside rim but not on underside of foot. Deep roughly parallel incised vertical grooves on body, pendent from three narrow incised vertical grooves on body, pendent from three narrow incised encircling lines on shoulder.
