History and use
This walking stick is inspired by the traditional Irish shillelagh. A shillelagh is a wooden walking stick or fighting club commonly used in nineteenth century traditional Irish martial arts.

This object was donated by the Marks family. The Marks family was a prominent Brisbane family that made significant contributions to the fields of science and medicine.
