Description
Flask - Black Slip: "Black Slip II Ware juglet. Depressed piriform body with unevenly rounded base. Narrow cylindrical slightly backward-sloping neck with cut-away spout. Vertical loop handle from mid-neck to shoulder, rectangular in section. Cream clay with thin black to dark brown slip, lightly burnished. Relief decoration. String-hole projections, horizontally pierced, at neck-base opposite handle, at handle/shoulder join, on either side of upper neck and on either side of spout, in the same contour as the line of the rim. Horizontally pierced projection on top of handle. On mid body and shoulder two groups of three low parallel horizontal ridges, with a small relief circle between, at centre of each side. On lower body a horizontal wavy line. On front and rear, below and opposite handle, three vertical parallel ridges. Horizontal ridge at neck-base, horizontal wavy line at mid-neck, two horizontal ridges on upper neck and two on upper spout.
