History and use
Ralli carts, or ralli cars as they were sometimes called, were developed from the English dog cart style, but were generally lower to enable esy access, particularly for women in the long dresses of the Victorian era. The wicker body was unusual in Australia as they were difficult to keep clean on dusty roads. Wicker was used in Europe for vehicle bodies since ancient times as it was light and durable.

This ralli cart was used around 1900 by Mrs MacIntyre, the wife of a Toowoomba mayor.
