This Air Raid Precautions (ARP) armband belonged to Air Raid Warden Ellen Mouland during World War 2. Ellen Mouland (nee Swan) joined the ARP and her husband, World War 1 veteran Francis Mouland, joined the Volunteer Defence Corps (VDC).
