History and use
Jacks Day ran for several weeks in NSW and Qld from 1 November 1918 as a fundraising day for naval servicemen and Mercantile Marine sailors returning from service during World War 1. The day and its various fund raising activities came under the authority of the Department of Repatriation. It also ran after World War 2.
