History and use
This image was taken at the QANTAS airport in Brisbane in 1928. Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith had just made aviation history after flying from San Francisco to Honolulu, then to Fiji (the longest flight over open ocean) and finally to Brisbane.
From the collection of early 20th Century freelance photographer, Mr Fred Port.
